Break the Cycle of Over-Functioning & Relational Trauma

Grounded, culturally responsive, and somatic trauma therapy for ambitious teens, young adults, professionals, and parents in Milwaukee and across Wisconsin.

You know logically that you are safe, capable, and doing enough. Yet your body still reacts with an anxious heart, a tight chest, or a constant urge to manage everyone else’s emotions.

Many of us learned to adapt to stress by becoming high-functioning over-achievers, chronic people-pleasers, or conflict-avoiders. You don't have to choose between honoring your roots and protecting your peace.

In our work together, we look at the internal tug-of-war you experience every day:

  • The Inner Over-Functioner: The part of you that keeps everything under control, but leaves you exhausted and unable to turn your brain off at night.

  • The Peace-Keeper: The part that agrees to help everyone else to avoid conflict, even when your own cup is completely empty.

  • The Harsh Critic: The part that second-guesses your decisions and worries about disappointing your family, school, or workplace.

Ever feel like your mind and body are working against each other?

I Treat You, Not Just a Diagnostic Label
Standard healthcare often focuses strictly on symptoms rather than understanding human reactions to systemic stress, intergenerational trauma, and cultural expectations. My practice operates from a humanizing, protective framework.

I don't view your anxiety, hyper-vigilance, or boundary struggles as "defects." They are protective strategies your mind and body created to keep you safe in an overwhelming world.

How We Heal the Root:

  • EMDR Therapy (English & Español): Reprocesses deep-seated trauma memories so past painful experiences no longer trigger your present body.

  • IFS (Parts Work): Helps you understand and unburden the protective parts of yourself that are blocking your inner peace.

  • Somatic Body Awareness: Regulates your nervous system, helping you release stored physical tension and build genuine emotional steadiness.

My professional path has shaped me into the therapist I am today:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW): Advanced clinical training in mental health and trauma.

  • Licensed School Social Worker: Experienced in supporting youth, families, and school systems.

  • Licensed Bilingual Educator (NYC): Deep experience in diverse, multilingual communities.

  • Full Spectrum Doula: Supporting individuals through birth, postpartum, loss, and major transitions.

These experiences allow me to understand people across the lifespan—emotionally, culturally, academically, and relationally. They help me show up as a therapist who is both deeply trained and deeply human.
