Complex trauma often shows up quietly as chronic overthinking, perfectionism, boundary guilt, or feeling like you carry the emotional weight of your entire family system. Using somatic EMDR and IFS parts work, we reprocess past attachment wounds without re-traumatizing you, helping you move out of perpetual "survival mode.โ
The transition to parenthood frequently unearths unresolved childhood triggers, birth trauma, and identity shifts. As an LCSW and Certified Full-Spectrum Doula, I combine somatic trauma processing with compassionate maternal support so you can parent from grounding and peace rather than fear or burnout.
Drawing on my background as a Licensed School Social Worker and Bilingual Educator, I understand the heavy pressures of academic burnout, identity exploration, and family conflict. We help teens untangle intense emotions and build real confidence while helping parents navigate complex educational and family systems.
A Whole-Person Approach to Healing
Real healing happens when your mind, body, and cultural story are all in the room. By combining EMDR trauma processing (en espaรฑol e inglรฉs), IFS parts work, and somatic body awareness, we move past surface-level talk therapy. We get to the root of your internal stress, help your mind and body get on the same page, and create lasting peace that feels natural to live in.
Individual Session Fee: $145 per 50-minute session.
Bilingual Care: Available in English and Spanish (Servicios disponibles en espaรฑol e inglรฉs).
Out-of-Network Benefits: Many PPO insurance plans reimburse 50% to 80% of session costs. I provide monthly itemized Superbills for direct submission to your insurer.
Payment Accepted: All major credit cards, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA).

Operating as an out-of-network practice allows us to keep your care completely confidential, unhurried, and tailored around your actual healingโfree from insurance-mandated diagnoses, arbitrary session limits, or record audits.
How to Use Your Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits
A Step-by-Step Guide to Reimbursement at Brightside Therapies & Wellness
At Brightside Therapies, we operate as an out-of-network provider. This allows us to offer unhurried, highly specialized care tailored entirely to your timeline and goalsโfree from insurance-mandated diagnoses or session limits.
Many employer-sponsored PPO health plans offer Out-of-Network (OON) mental health benefits, reimbursing 50% to 80% of your session cost after your deductible is met.
-
Look at the back of your health insurance card and call the Member Services or Mental Health/Behavioral Health phone number.
-
When you get a representative on the line, read these specific questions to get exact details on your coverage:
1. "Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits for outpatient psychotherapy?"
(If no, you will pay the flat rate of $145 out-of-pocket, or you can use an HSA/FSA card).
2. "What is my out-of-network deductible for mental health, and how much of it has been met so far this year?"
(Your deductible is the amount you must pay out-of-pocket before reimbursement kicks in).
3. "What percentage of the session cost do you reimburse for CPT Code 90837 (55-minute individual therapy) with an LCSW?"
(Insurance will tell you their reimbursement rate, usually between 50% and 80%).
4. "Is there an 'Allowable Amount' cap for CPT Code 90837?"
(Some plans set a maximum rate they base their percentage on).
5. "How do I submit a Superbill for reimbursement, and what is the deadline to submit claims?"
(Ask if they have an online portal, app, or mailing address for submitting claims)..
-
Step 1: Attend Your Session
You attend your 55-minute individual therapy session (in-person or via telehealth).
Step 2: Pay Your Session Fee
You pay the $145 fee at the time of service using any major credit card, HSA card, or FSA card.
Step 3: Receive Your Monthly Superbill
On the 1st of each month, an itemized receipt (Superbill) containing all required clinical codes is sent directly to your secure portal.
Step 4: Submit & Get Reimbursed
You upload the Superbill to your insurance companyโs online portal or app. Your insurer processes the claim and mails a reimbursement check directly to you.
-
What is a Superbill?
A Superbill is a standard itemized receipt for medical services. It contains all the necessary details your insurance company needs to process your claim, including provider information, diagnosis codes, CPT procedure codes (90837), and payments made.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes! Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) allow you to pay for your $145 session fee using pre-tax dollars, reducing your total out-of-pocket expense even before insurance reimbursement.
